PROGRAMME NOTES

* The 1963 Choir toured the province giving concerts in Vancouver, New Westminster and Winfield. The concert at Queen's Avenue United Church in New Westminster was recorded by former Choir member, Don Beattie. Don was a featured soloist In the Queen's Ave Church Choir at the time. Mrs. Ferguson subsequently excerpted selections from this tape to make up the first album of the choir released that same year. Fortunately, Don kept the original tape from which I have selected as many as possible of the songs that were not included by Mrs. Ferguson on the 1963 album. The accompanist for the choir songs at this concert was Beverly Matheson. Mrs. Ferguson herself accompanied the soloists and ensembles.

+ This song was taken from a private tape recording made in the year indicated. With the advent of affordable, consumer-oriented reel-to-reeI tape recorders it became possible In the late 1950s to make individual recordings of the boy soloists. Mrs. Ferguson sometimes arranged for a friend to make these tapes. Often she did this just as she noticed the boy's voice was beginning to change. Mrs. Ferguson accompanied the singer In most of these private tapes.

** This song was taken from the 1971, 40th Anniversary album, the last that Mrs. Ferguson made. No indication is given concerning the accompanist though certainly Mrs. Ferguson, herself, accompanied the soloists.

*** This song was taken from the 1967 album of Christmas Songs entitled Christmas Greetings. No indication is given concerning the accompanist though certainly Mrs. Ferguson accompanied the soloists.

**** This song was taken from the 1967 album Mrs. Ferguson made featuring her mixed, teen-aged choir called The Choristers. No indication is given concerning the accompanist.
