Genesis 17:1-7, 15-16

Abraham and Sara

This banner, made by the Craft Group, was presented on the Second Sunday of Lent. It represents another of God's promises to some of the early people –
Abraham and Sarah.

Abram was 99, and Sarai was 90, when a covenant was made between God and the two of them – that Sarai would be called Sarah and would have a baby; this child would be the beginning of generations to come, they were driven by this mysterious and urgent calling, aware of God's promises that the earth was to be blessed through their descendents.

The banner not only shows Abraham, as he was to be named, and Sarah and baby, Isaac, but also illustrates the generations of God's people that followed throughout the world as a result of this promise.
