Prayers of the People

May 23, 2010

When you hear the words, "In your healing love, O God...", please respond with "Hear our prayers."

Almighty, true and incomparable God,
You are present in all things,
yet in no way limited by them.
You remain unaffected by place,
untouched by time,
unperturbed by years,
and undeceived by words.
You are not subject to birth
and in no need of protection.
You are beyond all corruption,
above all change,
immutable by nature.
You live in unapproachable light
and are invisible,
yet You are known to all those
who seek You with hope and love.
You are the God of Israel,
and of all who hope in Christ.
In your healing Love, O God...    "Hear our prayers."

Gracious God we feel your presence among us here, this day and in this place. Your love flows through and among us all. The manifestation of your goodness is apparent in actions and events that touch us daily. Give us the wisdom to see that and the guidance in our faith to endure those events in our lives that we truly do not understand. God we are here today to praise you as you are the purpose and reason for our existence. We gathered here today to glorify you for here on earth all glory for you comes from us your faithful. You are the source of all that is good, the source of all that is and ever will be. You are the home to our salvation and ever lasting life through you son Jesus. You will retain and maintain us in your love for eternity which we can not achieve ourselves here on earth. In these our prayers to you for the people among us here today and around the world we humbly ask for your compassion, healing, love and comfort. In your healing Love, O God...    "Hear our prayers."

Compassionate God, look into our hearts and minds and guide us in dealing with our personal fears and challenges. Help those in this church who labour with church duties, guide them in resolving difficult problems, clarify their vision to help focus the congregation in gaining insight into your message. Give us the strength to integrate that message into the actions and attitudes of our daily life. We ask for your blessing and guidance for Our Re-imagining Team, Our Making Connections partners: Rapid City and Riverport Pastoral Charges. Here in our Presbytery strengthen Ann Pollock in her pastoral work in the Castlegar and Robson area. We pray for your blessings, grace and protection for all those who keep the peace and for those who endeavour to make peace throughout the world. For we your faithful seek peace and justice for all here on earth. Help those among us who are in great need of your love, healing and comfort. They are as listed in our Prayer List today. In this quiet moment we offer the names of others whose concerns are close to our hearts ...    ... In your healing Love, O God...    "Hear our prayers."

Holy Father, we ask for your presence that touches and benefits us to also reach those in the troubled parts of our world. In our Ecumenical Prayer cycle this week, we ask for your strong guidance of love to be felt in the hearts and minds of those responsible for the care and attention of the peoples of Botswana and Zimbabwe. Turn the minds of their leaders away from evil and towards compassion and love for their people. We pray that every heart that is filled with angry and hatred be opened and shown the light of forgiveness, kindness and love. Let us and our affiliations abroad like our brothers and sisters in the Nyanyadzi Methodist Church in Zimbabwe be your instruments in this request. In your healing Love, O God...    "Hear our prayers."

Blessed are you, God of sunshine, moonlight; star shine and rainbows. May the radiance of ChristÕs love for us fill our hearts within this house of worship. Holy Father continue to use us to do your will and to bless us so that we may be a blessing to others. Keep us strong so that we may help the weak. Keep us uplifted so that we may be able an encourage to the discouraged. And, Father bless our graduates who are moving on to other milestones in their lives. May you be ever present in their hearts and minds and an inspiration for them to do your will as they go out and take their place in the world. In your healing Love, O God...    "Hear our prayers."

AMEN
