Let us pray together, and when you hear the words, "Holy Trinity God", please respond with ..."hear our prayers."
Holy God, when was the last time we heard the wind of your Spirit roar through this place?
When was the last time your fire lit up this sanctuary?
When was the last time we took you at your word and met together in expectation of your Spirit filling this place and these lives with your Glory and Power?
God, you challenge us with Pentecost. As we meet together and celebrate once again the memory of that first Pentecost may it be for us as it was then:
a moment of awareness of your Glory in this dark world, a life changing experience.
Holy Trinity God..."hear our prayers."
We thank You for the sunrise and sunset, gently falling rain, a flower blooming, a bird singing, a child playing, a smile offered, a hug given, laughter coming from deep within, or shared tears of loss. For whatever everyday, ordinary moment that touches our life, we give thanks.
We pray for your church, gathered here and throughout the world, for our brothers and sisters at Nyanyadzi Methodist Church. We pray for peace and justice, and respect between peoples of all faiths. In our ecumenical prayer circle we pray for the peoples of Malawi and Zambia.
In our Presbytery prayer circle we pray for George Meier, Conference minister for Kootenay Presbytery and interim minister at the Boundary Pastoral Charge.
Holy Trinity God..."hear our prayers."
May we hear your Spirit calling to us, God, in the injustice in the world around us, in the cry of the disinherited and homeless, in the pain of those who are sick or bereaved and long for comfort. We also remember their care givers, whether professionals, friends, or family.
We name all those named on our Prayer List and others we name out loud or in our hearts...
We also think of Jamie MacBeth, Our Reimagining Team, Our Making Connections partners: Rapid City & Area Pastoral Charge and Riverport Pastoral Charge.
Holy Trinity God..."hear our prayers."
As we celebrate this season of newness, touch us with your gentle caress; hold us in your strong embrace, breathe into us your Spirit, that we might spring into life. Thank You for always surrounding us with Your love; and help us to recognize your Spirit in all people we meet.
And together we say, "Amen"
