The Boise State Broncos (4-4, 3-1 Mountain West) and Fresno State Bulldogs (7-1, 3-1) meet Saturday at Bulldog Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Boise State vs. Fresno State odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Boise State heads into November at .500. That’s not something we’ve said very many times in the past couple of decades, but it’s been a difficult season on the Smurf Turf and on the road. The Broncos are coming off an impressive, and perhaps season-saving, 32-7 victory against Wyoming last week as 4.5-point favorites as the Under (48) cashed.

The Broncos posted that Under, halting a 5-game Over run. Boise State has gotten its act together on offense lately, going for 30 or more points in 6 straight contests. However, for side bettors, Boise State is just 1-3-1 against the spread (ATS), as the defense has coughed up 27 or more points in 4 of the past 5.

The Bulldogs eased by UNLV last weekend by a 31-24 score in The Valley, but Fresno State failed to cover as a 10.5-point favorite. That’s 4 consecutive non-covers for the Bulldogs. In fact, Fresno State is 0-4 ATS in Mountain West games this season.

FRESNO STATE (-140) is a decent play as a moderate favorite at home, as The Valley is a very difficult place to play for visitors. This will be a close game, and the Bulldogs are a good option if you don’t want to fiddle around with the points.

Boise State (+115) has picked up just a single victory in 4 tries on the road this season, a wild 34-31 shootout at San Diego State. It lost last time out at Colorado State, and the Broncos have allowed 31 or more points in all 4 games on the road this season.

Boise State has alternated wins and losses in the past 5 outings, with 2 straight losses on the road. It is 1-3 SU and 0-3-1 ATS away from home this season.

This will be an interesting game. The Broncos are playing for bowl eligibility and need a signature win. The Bulldogs are playing to get into the Mountain West Conference Championship Game and perhaps a New Year’s Day bowl game. A loss would all but likely be their death knell in those pursuits.

Boise State has allowed 31 or more points in each of its 4 games on the road this season, while the Over has cashed in 5 of the past 6 outings overall.

For Fresno State, the defense has been tagged for 28.0 PPG in the past 2 games, and 24 or more points in 3 consecutive outings. We might not get a track meet, but the mid-50’s isn’t much at all with these 2 giving defenses.

The Fresno State Bulldogs and the Boise State Broncos are set to square off in a Mountain West battle at 10:00 p.m. ET on November 4th at Valley Children's Stadium. Fresno State will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.

Last Saturday, Fresno State earned a 31-24 victory over UNLV.

Mikey Keene looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 256 yards and four touchdowns. Jalen Moss also helped out with an impressive 99 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Boise State made easy work of Wyoming on Saturday and carried off a 32-7 win. Boise State pushed the score to 29-7 by the end of the third, a deficit Wyoming had little chance of recovering from.

Boise State can attribute much of their success to Eric McAlister, who picked up 160 receiving yards and a touchdown. Maddux Madsen was another key contributor, throwing for 147 yards and a touchdown while completing 80% of his passes.

Their wins bumped Fresno State to 7-1 and Boise State to 4-4.

As for their game on Saturday, the contest is expected to be close, with Fresno State going off as just a 2.5-point favorite. This contest will be their eighth straight as the favorites (so far over this stretch they are 2-5 against the spread).

Fresno State beat Boise State 28-16 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Will Fresno State repeat their success, or does Boise State have a better game plan this time around.
