Barb Dionne
Office Administrator

In August 2025 I started as the Office Administrator for the Nelson United Church. I'm thrilled to be working in such a community-focused and welcoming environment. I've lived and worked in Nelson for the past 30 years and have an extensive background in administrative support.

This position offers the perfect opportunity to do what I enjoy, keeping connected and engaging with the public and the many community groups in the area.

A bit about me... I'm passionate about gardening, love to spend time outdoors enjoying the beauty of our area, hiking the many trails, enjoying the rivers and lakes and taking long walks with my dog. My favourite seasons are spring, summer and fall. I could easily leave winter behind! I'm lucky I have both my daughter and son, along with other family members all living close by, so we get to spend a lot of family time together. I also share my home with two energetic dogs, a Border Collie and a Ziguate (a rescue from Costa Rica), who definitely keep me in shape!

For millennia, Indigenous Peoples have lived on and cared for this land, their deep connection to it rooted in culture, identity, and spirituality. We respectfully acknowledge that the land on which we gather is located within the intersecting traditional territories of multiple First Nations, and is now home to diverse Indigenous People, including the Métis and Inuit. We recognize the historical and ongoing injustices faced by Indigenous communities. Though we do not fully comprehend the depth of these experiences, we commit ourselves to learning and reflection. We believe that sincere words can open hearts and inspire change. As fellow children of the Creator, we commit to walking the path of reconciliation together.
