FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE
 The United Church Women

We are the United Church Women (UCW) at NUC.

There are 53 dedicated members in the UCW,

We invite all women who are interested in contributing their prayers, gifts, and services to support the Church to join us at any time.

We engage in many Fund-raising events to support the mission of NUC, like:

  • Valentine coffee party in February;

  • St. Patrick’s Day Coffee Party in March;

  • Spring Tea and plant sale in April;

  • Garage Sale in June;

  • Christmas Bazaar in November,

  • Cookie Walk in December.

In addition, we coordinate many other events like an Amalgamation Sunday (Trinity United and Fairview United) in July, a Welcome Back luncheon in September, a Soup and Bun lunch in October, and an Alzheimer collection in October.

We cater several memorial gatherings.

On Sundays, we provide beverages and goodies for the congregation. It’s gratifying to note the visiting and lively conversation that happens in the church hall after the service.

We gather several times a year in a member's home to engage in socially important discussions on subjects such as feminism and restorative justice.

As noted by former Moderator Jordan Cantwell, the United Church Women serve as the “hands and feet” of the church, making significant contributions to our communities.

We encourage you to join us in this impactful ministry.

For millennia, First Nations peoples have lived on and cared for this land, their deep connection to it rooted in culture, identity, and spirituality. We respectfully acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of many diverse Indigenous nations located within the intersecting traditional territories of multiple First Nations and is home to diverse Indigenous peoples including the Metis. We recognize the historical and ongoing injustices faced by Indigenous communities. Though we may not fully comprehend the depth of these experiences, we commit ourselves to learning and reflection. We believe that sincere words can open hearts and inspire change. As fellow children of the Creator, we commit to walking the path of reconciliation together.
